Classic & collector cars
Sell your classic carwithout waiting on a consignment sale.
There are three usual ways to sell a classic in Dallas-Fort Worth: consign it with a dealer, run it through an auction, or sell it to someone outright. We're the third kind. We buy classic and collector cars ourselves, so there's one number and then you're done.
No VIN handy? Start the form without it or call Brian at 214-732-7859.
Consignment, auction or outright: the honest version
If you have time and the car is special, consignment can make sense. If you want it sold, send it to us.
- Consignment: your car sits on someone else's floor until a buyer turns up. It can bring more money if you can wait, but you don't know when it sells, and the terms vary from shop to shop
- Auction: a fixed date and a crowd, but there are fees, transport, and the chance it doesn't meet your reserve
- Outright sale: one offer, paid when the paperwork is done. Usually less than a perfect retail sale, and a lot less waiting
What we look at on a classic
- Original, restored, or restomod, and who did the work
- Rust. Southern cars that never saw road salt are worth more to us
- Paperwork: receipts, restoration photos, matching-numbers documentation
- How it runs and drives today, in your words
No 17-digit VIN? That's normal
Cars built before 1981 carry a shorter serial number, so our VIN lookup won't decode them. On the offer form, choose "I don't have it" and type in the year, make, model and the serial number from the title.
No salvage or rebuilt titles — the title has to be clean.
Common questions
Yes. The title has to be clean and in your name. We don't buy salvage or rebuilt titles. If the paperwork on an old car is a mess, tell us before you spend time on photos.
Yes, once the title can be signed over. In Texas that is either through the probate paperwork or, if there was no probate, an Affidavit of Heirship for a Motor Vehicle (TxDMV form VTR-262). Your county tax office can tell you which applies.
Tell us honestly what state it's in and send the photos. Brian will tell you straight whether it's a fit before anyone wastes a trip.
