What we collect

When you ask us for an offer, we collect the vehicle identification number you enter, the photographs you upload, the mileage and ZIP code you provide, and the name, phone number and email address you give us so we can reply. If you write anything in the notes field, we keep that too.

We also record how you arrived at this site — the campaign or search parameters in the link you clicked, and the referring website — so we know which advertising is worth paying for.

What we do with it

We use it to evaluate your vehicle and contact you about it. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.

To identify your vehicle, the VIN you enter is sent to our decoding provider, Auto.dev. Only the VIN is sent — never your name, phone number, email address or photographs.

Your photographs

Photos are stored on our own server, not a public image host. We deliberately strip the embedded metadata from every image when it is uploaded, including any GPS coordinates your phone recorded, so the location where you took the photo is not retained.

Analytics and advertising

This site may use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure which pages and campaigns lead to submissions. These services set cookies and receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and pages viewed. You can block them with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker without affecting your ability to submit a vehicle.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for as long as they are useful for our business records — including vehicles we did not end up buying, because sellers often come back. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Your choices

Write to us at brian@texasmotorcars.com or call 214-732-7859 to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Texas residents have specific rights under state law regarding their personal data, and we honour those requests regardless of where you live.

Children

This site is for people old enough to sell a vehicle. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
